Hace unos días me preguntabais que, más o menos, en qué me basaba para hacer mis ‘looks’. Yo personalmente, siempre he intentado probar cosas nuevas, inventarme mis propios conjuntos o prendas y demás. En el pasado llevaba ‘looks’ algo más atrevidos, ya sabéis, de mi rollo. Pero últimamente, a lo largo de los últimos años, es cierto que llevo ‘looks’ más conservadores pero también intento darles mi toque personal, ya sea metiéndole una prenda un poco más rompedora al ‘look’, o haciéndolo al menos un poquito contradictorio (si voy muy femenina, pues le meto una ‘jacket’ de cuero o algo que no lo haga tan obvio). En fin, un poco mi propia ciencia pero a la vez, improvisando sobre la marcha.
Sin embargo, me puse a investigar el otro día por Internet, y en una de esas revistas ‘online’ de estilo (no recuerdo cual, pues visito muchas), salía lo que viene siendo una “fórmula de estilo”, además con resultados probados. Entonces me di cuenta de que había estado un poco siguiendo esa “fórmula” inconscientemente, la ecuación es la siguiente: Un básico + una pieza interesante + una pieza que complete el look + nuestros accesorios estándar = un ‘look’ para nada aburrido.
Os explico un poco. El básico es algo que conocemos todos, en el caso del ‘look’ que llevo hoy sería el vestido maxi negro. La pieza interesante tiene que ser algo que llame la atención, ya sea por asimetría, color, diseño o textura, algo así como lo más rompedor del ‘look’, y en el caso del que llevo hoy, sería el chaleco. Luego tenemos la pieza que complete el ‘look’, esto se refiere un poco más a algún elemento que haga que el ‘look’ sea algo más pensado, puede ser un sombrero, una rebeca, un foulard, un cinturón interesante… alguna pieza que tampoco hace falta, pero si quieres darle un poco más de rollo, se la metes al ‘look’. Y por último, tenemos nuestros accesorios estándar, que son aquellos con los que nunca nos vamos de casa (gafas, bolso, anillos, pulseras, etc.), ese es más a la elección de cada una.
Bueno, espero que os sirvan mis consejos. La verdad es que parece una tontería, pero estos pequeños detalles no sólo hacen que vestirse sea más divertido, sino que también sea más fácil. Ya me vais contando si lo ponéis a prueba.

A few days ago, you guys were asking me about my inspiration to create my looks. Personally, I’ve always tried to get out of my comfort zone, try to invent my own ensembles or clothes and so on. I used to wear more daring looks in the past, you know, with that vibe that I’ve always liked; but lately, and among the past few years, I gotta say that my looks got a little more conservative but always trying to give them my personal touch by either adding an statement piece to enhance the look or by doing it a little bit contradictory (if I feel that I’m wearing something too ‘ladylike’, then I throw on a leather jacket or something that doesn’t make it too obvious). Anyways, it is a little bit of my own science, but improvising along the way.
However, doing a little research on the internet the other day, and in one of those online magazines about fashion (I don’t remember which one, I read a lot of those), they wrote an article about what it was like a “foolproof style formula”. Then I realized that I had been unconsciously following this “formula”, in which equation goes more or less like this: one basic piece + one interesting piece + one completer piece + our standard accessories = an awesome look.
Let me explain you a little bit what it means: a basic piece it’s something we all know, in the look that I’m wearing today, would the black maxi dress. The interesting piece has to be something that really catches the eye, either by asymmetry, color, pattern or texture, something like a statement piece; that would be the colorful vest I’m wearing today. Then we have the completer piece (it could be one or more), this is an item that makes the look more thought-out; it can be a hat, or a cardigan, a foulard, a cool belt… some piece that you don’t really need, but if you want to spice it up, throw a hat on. And last but not least, we have our standard accessories, and that means those things you never leave the house without: sunglasses, bags, rings, bracelets, etc.; it depends on each person.
Well, I hope my advice comes in handy. Truth is that it seems silly, but those little details not only make everything way more fun when it comes to play dress, but also way easier. Let me know how it goes by applying the theory.
